How to do a widebody build!
Good build doesn't happen overnight, which explains why the owner of this 1967 Ford Mustang has been working on his pony for the last 6 years. It's been tastefully big-body treated, which is probably the first thing you'll notice. All of that effort has paid off, resulting in a mean-looking, rough muscle car whose bite is even worse than its bark.

To back up this Mustang's aggressive looks, it's packing some serious heat with a Coyote V8 engine swap. The engine was not modified as the owner wanted a daily driver and not a route animal. Even so, it looks like a giant V8 wedged under the hood. A T56 manual transmission and a 9-inch Ford rear with 4.56 gears fit this.

All the power in the world won't do you much if you can't control the car. This is where the Detroit Speed suspension comes into play. According to the owner, as he drove it, things evolved and decided what he did and didn't do about the build and then made changes accordingly.
Anyone familiar with the 1967 Mustang Fastbacks will immediately find that much more has been done with this car than just fender and quarter panels. In fact, this pony wears a significant number of custom orders for a completely unique look. Overall, the mods are timely so the casual observer might think that all of the work is original.

Don't worry, the guy who did this job, Art, found a Mustang that had been sitting in and chopping into a field since 1978. He admits that despite all that sitting in the elements, it was pretty clean except for some front-end damage. It's a California car, after all, so the only thing it really suffered from was wildfire.
