This is a wild build ...
While AMG became infamous for building wolves in sheep's clothing, someone decided to give it a modern twist with a 1968 Mercedes 250S W108. The owner has replaced the sedan's factory drivetrain with a Mercedes-AMG C63 S from 2017. It's what might be called the ultimate sleeper because no one would expect tire-shredding performance from such a buttoned-up classic.
Take a look at a Restomod Mercedes 300SL here.
The Australian based owner posted photos and videos of this stunning build on Instagram. You can see from them that the W108 can drift like crazy, not to mention some respectable burnouts.

The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with aftermarket downpipes develops 514 hp. That is a huge increase over the 200 hp of the factory 4.5-liter V8.
While Mercedes and AMG are “pushing ahead” trying to ditch combustion engines in favor of electrification or electrification in an indefinite time frame, this guy has continued the spirit of what AMG put on the map. This just goes to show that enthusiasts, not automotive executives, sitting in boardrooms rolling over charts are the ones driving really exciting innovations in the automotive industry.

While the exterior looks pretty low-key, there are a few signs that something strange is going on with this W108. Most obvious are the bright yellow brake calipers peeking out from behind the black, modern AMG wheels, not to mention the tell-tale discs that complete the setup. There is also an "S" badge on the trunk lid, which you may not even notice. That's a cue for anyone watching what's under that long, stately hood just before the driver drops the hammer and that thing starts to roast rubber.
In addition, this guy took the interior of the C63 S and put it in the classic Mercedes W108. That means a modern infotainment touchscreen, an Alcantara steering wheel, bucket seats with large cushions and all the other modern conveniences you could want.
