2 women found dead in Las Vegas hotel room near Strip in possible murder-suicide, police say

Two women were found dead on Monday in a Las Vegas hotel room near the strip. Investigators believe it was a murder-suicide.
The women were spotted by Palms Casino Resort staff around 3 p.m., Lt. Ray Spencer of the Homicide Squad for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police told reporters across from the hotel.
The guests hadn't checked out on Monday, prompting security guards to visit the room. When they were unable to get in because of the security bar on the door, hotel maintenance staff forcibly opened the door and found the bodies on the hotel bed.

They are said to be in their mid to late 30s and may be romantically involved, police said. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Spencer said investigators believe both died from gunshot wounds. Investigators believe the women live in the Las Vegas area and have died within 12 hours of their discovery.
"We know at least one of them was alive by 5 a.m.," said Spencer. "From a note left in the room, we assume they'll be at least somewhat romantically involved."
Investigators weren't sure if both women died at the same time. They work with hotel security to go through video surveillance footage.
