For quite some time now, the brand, which has called its top Denali models some of the most luxurious in the business, has not lived up to these high expectations. Simply put, the recent interiors of the Sierra Denali didn't look as rich as those of its rivals like the top of the line Ram 1500. GMC clearly recognized the differences in quality and technical features that are arguably the biggest changes to the '22 Sierra, and they are not limited to Denali embellishments.
The half-ton Sierra range has been relaunched with a renamed base model (it now goes Pro) and the addition of the AT4X and Denali Ultimate embellishments that add even more functionality and functionality to the regular AT4 and Denali they are based on add nicer interior to. Each 2022 Sierra 1500 features a new front fascia with fresh grille designs and an updated bumper. A pair of revised LED headlights with redesigned daytime running lights complete the changes. Some lights are also animated in different sequences when the truck starts or walks away and towards it.

Starting with the SLE model, the Sierra's cabin benefits from a major makeover that includes a new 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 13.4-inch center touchscreen. The meter cluster is highly configurable, and the updated infotainment system now supports Google's app store, maps and voice assistant. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also come standard with the large touchscreen, and a huge heads-up display is also available. Models with front bucket seats have a redesigned center console and a T-shaped electronic gearshift lever; those with a front bench seat have a pillar-mounted gear lever. In addition, the upper panels are now equipped with an electrically adjustable steering column as standard.
The new AT4X is very similar to the recently unveiled Chevy Silverado ZR2, except that its exterior doesn't look nearly as extroverted. As the most off-road model of the Sierra 1500 family, it has advanced Multimatic slide valve dampers, electronic locking differentials front and rear and additional underbody protection. He rolls on black 18-inch wheels with gnarled Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac mud-terrain tires. The AT4X has a Terrain Mode that allows pedaling in low-speed situations where momentum and wheel placement are important. To better protect the door sills from dents and dents, a set of sill protectors is also available.

With the new Denali Ultimate, GMC's most popular model is finally doing justice to its luxury branding. It has a dark "Vader" chrome outer panel and rides on 22-inch rims supported by adaptive dampers. Climb in and admire the numerous leather-covered surfaces and the open-pored wood. The headliner is made of microsuede, the leather front seats have 16-way electrically adjustable and massage functions, and the premium audio system from Bose plays over 12 loudspeakers, including the door panels with stainless steel grilles. The Denali Ultimate also comes standard with Super Cruise, GM's hands-free driving technology; It's optional at regular Denali as well.
The half-ton heavy Sierra is still offered with a 355 hp 5.3-liter or a 420 hp 6.2-liter V-8. A 2.7-liter in-line four-cylinder with turbocharger and a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder from Duramax are also available. Last year's 4.3-liter V-6 was dropped. GMC says the turbo-four has been updated to be refined and produce more torque (420 pound-feet versus 383), and its eight-speed automatic has been recalibrated to be more responsive. Thanks to chassis changes, the Duramax diesel is now compatible with the Max Trailering package, which allows it to haul up to 13,200 pounds. Previously, diesel powered sierras could only pull up to 9200 pounds.
The 2022 Sierra 1500 is expected to hit dealerships in the first quarter of next year. The entry-level Sierra Pro starts at $ 32,495 and the Denali Ultimate starts at $ 80,395 to $ 19,100 more than the regular Denali. The AT4 starts at $ 60,995 and the AT4X costs $ 74,995 before any options.
