2022 Honda Civic hatchback will be revealed, with a manual, on June 23
With the 2022 Honda Civic sedan fully unveiled, only one body style remains: the hatchback. And we'll finally see it (well, officially) on June 23rd. The unveiling will take place at 9 p.m. Eastern time during a concert and you can see it all at this link.
By then, Honda has provided the above teaser as well as a tidbit that will make enthusiasts very happy: it gets a manual transmission. Honda has not said which engines will be available and which will receive this transmission. But based on the current hatchback, we would guess that only the turbo engine would be offered, making it the only engine with the manual. In the sedan, the 1.5-liter turbo engine puts out 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque.
Honda also confirmed that the hatchback will be built in the United States instead of the UK. Specifically, it will be built at the Honda plant in Greensburg, Indiana.
