The no-name defense has already been adopted, so we're not going to assign this nickname to this year's 49ers.
And the unfamiliar defense of the name doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.
But that's exactly what Defensive Coordinator Robert Saleh is all about when the 49ers face the Miami Dolphins at Levi's® Stadium in Week 5.
The defense line and cornerback positions of the 49ers have been decimated. The team was forced to remove players from the training team and ask them to take on prominent roles. So get used to the names Jamar Taylor, Ken Webster, and Alex Barrett.
Every Saturday new players get the opportunity to move up to the active squad. Then they have to perform important tasks the next day. This weekend won't be any different.
There are now signs that the 49ers' offensive is gradually stabilizing.
