6 waiver wire targets in fantasy football for Week 16
Here we are. Championship week. If you've been blessed to play for a title this weekend, good luck! If you are trying to avoid the shameful punishment your league has for last place, you need all the help you can get.
Fortunately, there are still plenty of high profile players on the waiver available to give your team an extra boost.
Here are six waiver goals for week 16 as the fantasy season ends:
WR Rashard Higgins, Cleveland Browns
Scott Galvin-USA TODAY Sports
16.3% in the squad (ESPN) While the Browns continue to fight for a place in the playoffs, Higgins really shone in the second half of the season. With four catches for 76 yards against the Giants, he proves fit for this talented offense. Expect Higgins to keep putting up big numbers as Cleveland keeps rolling.
WR Russell Gage, Atlanta Falcons
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports
21.3% (ESPN) Gage really found a place in this temporary attack in Atlanta and has become a great second option behind Calvin Ridley due to Julio Jones' injury. After recording five catches for 68 yards and a touchdown, look for Gage to be a solid flex option this week.
QB Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
33.1% (ESPN) Hurts' two-game route gave him serious imagination advantages. He appeared to silence critics after an Arizona shootout that saw him hit 338 yards and three touchdowns. With a unique Rush ability, he could be worth the risk against the Cowboys in week 16.
RB Salvon Ahmed, Miami Dolphins
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports
24.2% in the squad (ESPN) The revolving door of Dolphins' running backs goes on again, Ahmed has a big game this week. He finished with 122 yards on the ground and a touchdown against New England. He'll likely be the number 1 dolphin when the season ends if Myles Gaskin doesn't return from the reserve / COVID-19 list.
RB Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys
Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports
34.9% Rostered (ESPN) Pollard isn't your average backup that rolls back. He was featured in the starting role against San Francisco last week for Ezekiel Elliot's calf injury. Pollard finished with 69 yards and two touchdowns. He also added six catches for 63 yards. If Elliott misses again, Pollard has RB1 on his head.
TE Dawson Knox, Buffalo Bills
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports
1% Roster (ESPN) Two weeks, two touchdowns for Knox, who had big problems in the first half of the season. Over the past few weeks he's been slowly drawing more targets and finding the end zone which could result in big numbers in the last two games of the season. With Josh Allen at the helm, Knox is always a threat.
