70-year-old man renews driver's license, immediately plows vehicle through Ohio BMV
MANSFIELD, Ohio — A man who had just renewed his driver's license drove his pickup truck through a BMV office in Ohio Thursday morning, police reported.
The accident happened around 9:15 a.m. ET at the Public Safety Bureau of the Motor Vehicle Bureau in downtown Mansfield, Ohio, about 60 miles southwest of Akron, a spokesman for the Mansfield Police Department told USA TODAY.
No injuries were reported, said the police spokesman.
A BMV employee said she served the man who had just had his driver's license renewed. After leaving the BMV office, the man drove his pickup through the window.
The accident was still under investigation on Thursday but Mansfield Police Commissioner Shari Robertson said the 70-year-old man told officers he was trying to drive away from the shop and lost control of his vehicle as he entered the building met.

A man drove his pickup truck through the window of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles Office in Temple Court in downtown Mansfield, Ohio, Thursday morning. Nobody was hurt.
Police said Thursday the office was temporarily closed.
