Queen Consort Camilla and King Charles spent quality time with Prince William and Kate Middleton last week as the couples joined to welcome South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to Buckingham Palace. And while everything seemed to be going well, body language expert Judi James told The Express that upon seeing Wills and Kate, Camilla showed telltale signs of fear.
The moment in question came as the newly crowned Prince and Princess of Wales joined Queen Camilla and King Charles at the Royal Pavilion.

"There were strong signals of positive anticipation from Charles as his daughter-in-law Kate walked up the steps to greet him," James explained, adding that "his hands seemed to linger over his pockets and his warm gaze focused on her, while Camilla William seemed to show an even warmer, more loving smile."
However, Camilla's body language betrayed her fear of the situation. "There was a small gesture of concern from Camilla as the very elegant William and Kate came up the steps as she raised her bag in front of her torso in a barrier gesture," James said. "However, there is clearly a desire to show a unified front and a family atmosphere from the new top tier of the firm, with smiles, chats and polite body language signals all around."

It's possible that Camilla's anxiety was simply due to the pressure of the spotlight, as James notes, "Camilla seemed particularly keen on promoting a family look here, not just with her motherly smile but the way she did." she turned her head to join in the conversation between William and Kate. Kate's dimpled smile and raised brow showed a polite and attentive attentiveness as Camilla spoke to her over William, who adopts a fig-leaf hand gesture to indicate he's listening rather than speaking."
