Sian Taylor went viral on TikTok for sharing things she wouldn't spend money on for her wedding.
Taylor won't have real flowers, big cake, guest book, or save-the-dates at her midweek wedding.
"We want to invest our money in more meaningful things for the wedding," Taylor told Insider.

Weddings are full of traditions - the throwing of flowers, the ceremonial walk through the altar, the cutting of the cake.
Many couples modernize or eliminate the traditions that don't feel right to them, although many of them are still overwhelmingly popular in the wedding institution.
But for Sian Taylor, a bride living in the UK, it made more sense to approach wedding traditions with a practical and financial mindset than with sentimental ideas.
Taylor, 24, went to TikTok last week to share things she and her fiance Andy won't have at their wedding, largely because they're so expensive.

In the video, which had over 300,000 views at the time of writing, Taylor stated that she will not be sending save-the-dates, keeping a guest book, handing out party favors, or using real flowers at her wedding. She plans to use silk flowers herself and make her arrangements.
She also said she's getting married on a weekday because her venue is significantly cheaper to reserve on weekdays than on weekends.
In a second video, Taylor said she won't have a three-tier wedding cake because the base cost of an un-decorated cake in her area is over $ 500.

Instead, Taylor bought a small cake that she and her fiancé can cut and provided Krispy Kreme donuts to her guests. The cake will cost about $ 40 and the donuts will cost $ 83.
In addition, she only hires a DJ for part of the evening and wants to use a playlist for the rest of the night and buys her veil on Etsy or eBay to further reduce costs.
Your guests will also respond through a wedding website rather than by post, which saves money and is kind to the environment.
Taylor told Insiders that she and her fiancé save money by focusing on the parts of the wedding that are most important to them, and they hope other couples do the same.
"For us as a couple, we want to invest our money in more meaningful things for the wedding - a photographer and a videographer are priceless to us - instead of spending small sums of money that add up to a huge sum," she told Insider.
Taylor also said she received some criticism from viewers on TikTok.
"To all of the Karens who blew up my TikTok overnight because I don't want a guest book and are hosting a midweek wedding for our wedding, this is our wedding, not yours," Taylor said in a video response. "We hope our guests will come to celebrate us as a couple and not for the free stuff."

Taylor told Insiders that her videos were not designed to tell others what to do with their weddings.
"We believe everyone should have the wedding of their dreams, and if they love the ideas we're discarding, then 100% should they have them," she said. "I made the TikToks mainly for those who were budget conscious and wanted more ideas to save money."
"We're not a traditional couple and because of Covid, wedding prices seem to have skyrocketed so we took the chance to save money in some areas to have the things that really mean a lot to us." Taylor went on to say.
"I think a lot of people are caught on the materialistic side of weddings, but we want to focus on things that are important to us as a couple," she added.
