A debate between Sen. Lindsey Graham and challenger Jamie Harrison got nixed after Graham refused to take a COVID-19 test

A debate between South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and Democratic challenger Jaime Harrison was canceled after Graham refused to be tested for COVID-19.
Harrison asked Graham to take a COVID-19 test Thursday before they met on the debate stage.
The two candidates will instead participate in interviews with local reporters separately.

A debate between South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and his Democratic challenger Jaime Harrison was canceled after Graham refused to take a COVID-19 test.
The debate was scheduled for Friday night, but now Graham and Harrison will have separate 30-minute interviews with local CBS News subsidiary WSPA-TV, The Post and Courier reported.
On Thursday, Harrison urged Graham to take a COVID-19 test before debating.
"I look forward to tomorrow's debate with @LindseyGrahamSC, but we need real leadership in this pandemic. The debate moderators and I have agreed to do a COVID test before the debate. I have my test scheduled and I am calling Sen Graham to to do the same, "Harrison said in a tweet.
Graham accused Harrison of "asking for special treatment" and "ending the debate".
President Donald Trump announced a positive diagnosis of coronavirus last week. The announcement came days after he participated in the initial debate against Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.
On Thursday, a leaked memo from the Federal Emergency Management Agency revealed that 34 White House employees and other contacts had been infected with COVID-19 in the past few days. At least a dozen people who were around the president after an event in the Rose Garden on Sept. 26 also said they tested positive for the coronavirus, including two Republican senators.
