Alicia Witt is fed up with making her weight a topic of conversation.
When the 45-year-old actress and singer landed her first film, David Lynch's Dune, she was just 5 years old. And throughout her long career, she has since noticed that she has noticed how long women are tested for height in the industry.
"It was expected and accepted that women could be addressed and addressed in a certain way," Witt said on page six of Hollywood in the 1990s. "It wasn't considered a big deal to tell a woman, 'You should lose 15 pounds, you should lose 20 pounds.' "
The point of sale reports that she admitted she "can't even count" the number of times she was told to lose weight.
"It started when I was a young teenager," Witt continued. “And from sources that are seemingly harmless like friends. was something women would say to their daughters and sisters. "
Witt says she no longer worries about her body image or how others see her, and tells Page Six that she doesn't even have a scale in her Nashville home.
"I only hear how much I weigh when I hit my annual physical goal," she said. "And I threw that out of my head immediately because I just don't care. I know when I feel healthy. And I know that if I overdo it one day, I won't cope with it."
