Amanda Gorman opens up about major life changes after inauguration performance

Amanda Gorman had a great year.
Since she wowed the world with her poetry when the President inaugurated in 2021, she has continued to advance to global fame.
One of her most recent wins is to appear on the cover of the latest issue of Porter Magazine. In an in-depth interview with the publication, she talked about everything from the dramatic change in her life after reciting her poem "The Hill We Climb" to co-chairing this year's Met Gala with singer Billie Eilish, actor Timothée Chalamet and tennis phenomenon Naomi Osaka.

"I'm thrilled to be the cover star of @portermagazine," Gorman said in an Instagram post that revealed the cover.
The 23-year-old also commented on how "useful" it was to be on the cover of the magazine, saying that not long ago she was listed as the publication's "Incredible Girl".
"[Porter] was one of the first major magazines to have my name on the cover when nearly as many people didn't know who I am," she said in the Instagram caption. "I remember holding the subject in my hand (rather than clutching it) while taking a flight at Heathrow [airport]. The climb has to start somewhere, and wow, mine was so blessed."
In the latest installment of Porter, Gorman admitted that she is still amazed by all of her newfound fame after being warned by Oprah Winfrey that the moment would change her life.
"I made a bet with a friend of mine how many new followers I could get," said Gorman. "I thought '100,000 maximum'. I looked around for it and there were millions. "

Gorman immediately became a style star after the performance due to her bright yellow Prada coat and bright red headband.
Shortly after their captivating appearance, IMG models announced that they had signed the poet. The renowned agency also represents the supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid as well as Hailey Bieber.

All of the amazingly stylish moments and Gorman's increased notoriety also culminated in what is probably one of her most important fashion gigs: the co-chair of the Met Gala 2021.
Gorman said that when she was invited to the extraordinary fashion affair, she felt like "Cinderella at the ball".
"Anna Wintour took the time to ask me about Zoom. I wasn't expecting that at all," she said.
