Andrew Garfield claims he 'did not get a call' to appear in the next Spider-Man movie
Andrew Garfield talks about the rumors that he will appear in the next Spider-Man movie.
In an interview for Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, the 37-year-old actor addressed the whisper he and former colleague Spidey Tobey Maguire might have in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside Tom Holland.
"It's weird to me," Garfield said to Horowitz. "Because I have this Twitter account and see how often Spider-Man is trending. It's people who freak out about one thing and I'm like boys. Folks. I wish I could just talk to everyone and say : 'I recommend you relax.' "
A number of Spider-Man alums have been confirmed for the upcoming film: Jamie Foxx will return as Electro and repeat his role from the Garfield films, while Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus (from the Maguire series) is also confirmed for his appearance. Since then, rumors have been circulating about whether Maguire and Garfield will also be returning to put on their famous red onesies - but Garfield stays on the lips, comparing his constant refusals to playing the games werewolf or mafia.
"I didn't get a call," he added. "I should have got a call in the meantime. I'll say that. I don't want to rule anything out. Maybe they want to call me. Maybe they want to call me and say, 'Hey, people want this.'"

You'll find that Garfield apparently took care not to deny he was in the movie - just to deny that he got a call. Maybe he had a personal interview with Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios! Maybe No Way Home director Jon Watts emailed him! Or maybe he's really not in the movie and we sound really stupid speculating about it!
Either way, we'll have to wait and see when Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17th. In the meantime, Garfield seems to be an expert if you ever need an extra player for your werewolf or mafia game.
