AP Top 25: North Carolina moves into the top 5 after Florida's loss
Welcome to North Carolina's top 5.
The Tar Heels are # 5 in the AP Top 25 for Week 6 after Florida previously lost # 4 at Texas A&M. UNC follows Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and Notre Dame after defeating Virginia Tech on Saturday. The Hokies fell from number 19 to number 23.
Clemson easily beat Miami in a top 10 team matchup on Saturday night. Miami dropped from 7th to 13th. Alabama defeated Ole Miss on the road and Georgia defeated Tennessee at home. The Vols dropped from # 14 to # 18 with the loss.
Florida ranks 10th after losing 41-38 to the Aggies. A & M follows the Gators in 11th place. For Texas A & M this is a 10-point jump compared to the previous week.
LSU dropped out of the top 25 after a loss in Missouri. The defending champions are 2-1 after losing to Mississippi State and Mizzou in the first three weeks.
Neither Texas nor Oklahoma are in the poll. Both teams are 2-2 in four overtime hours on Saturday after Oklahoma's 53:45 win.
