Apple's iPhone deconstructed: This 3-D image shows where your iPhone 12 parts come from

The iPhone revolutionized consumer technology, helping create an app-based economy and push Apple (AAPL) to a market cap of $ 2 trillion. Following the launch of the iPhones in January 2007, Apple has since sold 2 billion units worldwide, with the phones being the company's largest source of revenue.
And while Apple designs the phone in Cupertino, California, the tech giant sources parts for the phone from manufacturers around the world. Apple's latest and greatest, the iPhone 12, is no different. Parts come from Japan, the USA, Europe, China and South Korea.
This is where the parts that make up your iPhone come from.

A Samsung display
Apple often relies on Samsung to produce the OLED panels used for the iPhone's Super Retina XDR display, despite the rivalry between the two tech giants, according to multiple sources including Wired. Panels from Samsung's competitor LG are also used, making the iPhone one of the best smartphone displays on the market.
In previous generations, Apple used OLED panels for its high-end Pro iPhone models and LCD panels for the standard iPhone models. LCD panels are generally brighter than OLEDs, but cannot offer the vibrancy or energy savings of OLED displays. With the iPhone 12, Apple switched the entire product line to OLED, so that all phones have the same screen.
A14 Bionic Processor
The heart of every iPhone 12 is the A14 Bionic processor from Apple. The chip, based on the UK-based ARM architecture and designed by Apple, is one of the most advanced smartphone processors in the world.

Using a 5-nanometer design process that even chipmaker Intel didn't manufacture on a large scale, the A14 has a central processing unit and graphics processing unit, as well as a 16-core neural machine learning engine. Inside, the A14 uses two powerful CPU cores (Central Processing Unit) for resource-intensive processes and four less energy-intensive CPU cores for simpler apps.
Camera CMOS image sensor
The iPhone 12 Pro has three new cameras that can be used to take wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto photos. These lenses are powered by the Sony CMOS image sensor (SNE).
Apple has added a number of new features for the iPhone 12 series. The basic iPhone and the iPhone mini have two camera lenses, one with a wide angle and the other with a wide angle, and a new low-light shooting mode that was missing from the basic iPhone 11.
The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have advanced shooting functions in poor lighting conditions and an additional telephoto lens. On the 12 Pro, the telephoto lens can zoom up to 2x, while the 12 Pro Max can zoom up to 2.5x, giving you a deeper zoom for cleaner pictures taken from a distance.
One of the most important aspects of a smartphone is the battery. And for the iPhone 12, Apple relied on Amperex technology to provide the power needed to keep the phones running all day.
According to Apple, the iPhone 12 Pro Max's battery provides up to 20 hours of video playback on a single charge, while the 12 Pro's battery takes 17 hours. The 12 and 12 Mini now receive 17 hours and 15 hours respectively. It makes sense that the larger phones get longer-lasting batteries as their larger sizes provide additional space for more robust batteries.
5G antenna
The iPhone 12s is the first iPhone with next-generation 5G cellular capabilities and is particularly suitable for consumers. 5G, which is still in its infancy in the United States, offers far faster network speeds than 4G LTE, resulting in improved uploads and downloads and lower latency.
Analysts like Dan Ives at Wedbush have long predicted what is known as a "super cycle" of above-average sales for the latest generation as 5G was added, and this thesis seems to be correct.
The demand for the cell phones has prompted Apple to increase production for the iPhone 12. The company is expected to build 96 million units in the first half of 2021, an increase of 30% over the previous year.
While there are rumors that Apple is developing its own 5G chip for future devices, the iPhone 12 relies on Qualcomm's 5G module (QCOM) to ensure it works with current 5G networks.
Memory card
The iPhone 12's memory chips are made by Kioxia, according to tech repair location iFixit. The amount of storage you get from your iPhone depends on the version you go for. The base iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini have 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB of storage space. The iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max have 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of storage space.
One of the most important decisions you will make when purchasing your iPhone is the amount of storage you will need to purchase. Not enough and you'll be deleting photos and apps, and relying on the cloud for storage. Too much and you pay for something you don't need.
