"It's pretty traumatic, especially around Christmas time," says Sgt. Richard Gradillas of the Tucson Police Department. "You have someone who hasn't even started their life. It's tragic. The kid was involved in youth sports and heavily involved in the community. It's just bad."
Officials went home around midnight after an 911 operator said the father had not responded to text messages or phone calls. The police knocked and received no answer.

The tragedy follows a Texas man who kills his wife and two children, as reported recently by TheGrio.
Bryan Richardson, 27, was found lying in bed with his wife and the bodies of two children when Copperas Cove police discovered them. According to KWTX News, Richardson is currently held for a bond worth $ 2.25 million.
The children's bodies were wrapped in blankets and bedspreads next to their mother, identified as Kiera Michelle Ware.
They discovered Richardson, covered in blood, lying next to his slain family. According to the officers, he had three self-inflicted cuts on his left arm. When asked, while he was being booked, if he was worried about losing his wife, job, and children, Richardson replied, "I've already lost them all."
