Baby Shark Is Real! Indonesian Fisherman Catches Mutant That’s Pure Nightmare Fuel
If you thought Baby Shark was just an adorable cartoon character accompanied by an alarmingly catchy theme song, think again. A fisherman in Indonesia caught a real baby shark that looks eerily similar to the YouTube viral sensation.
Abdullah Nuren was fishing with his brother near the Red Ndao in East Nusa Tenggara Province when he accidentally caught an adult shark in his trawler net. After dragging it in, Nuren cut the shark's stomach open, where he found three pups. Among them was one with two massive eyes just below its muzzle, which gave it a distinctly human appearance.
Fair warning, Baby Shark's catchy song might have been a certified catchy tune, but this baby shark can truly haunt your dreams.
The pup immediately made comparisons to the animated baby shark, which also has two large, round eyes just above its mouth instead of on either side of its head. Nuren brought the baby shark to his family home for care. According to DailyMail, he said he will keep the puppy in his house even though he has neighbors who have offered to buy him.
"My home was full of people who want to see the shark," he said. “A lot of people want to buy it, but I'll save it instead. I think it will bring me good luck. "
Surprisingly, this isn't the first mutant shark to be found off the coast of Indonesia in recent years. Last October, fishermen in Maluku province caught a cycloptic albino shark pup. Similarly, this pup was one of three pups found with the mother who was accidentally caught in the fishing nets.
It is unclear what caused the strange placement of the eyes in the shark pups.
