Baker Mayfield suffers injury while trying to make a tackle
Last year on week seven, Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered an end-of-season injury while attempting a tackle after an interception. Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was injured today while attempting a tackle after an interception.
Mayfield sustained an apparent arm / shoulder injury on his left side. He jogged to the locker room to examine himself further. He is reportedly back on the sidelines already.
Case Keenum, who led Vikings to the bottom four after being taken over in week two in 2017, is the backup.
The Browns and Texans are tied at seven. If Mayfield doesn't return, the Browns will find it even harder to cover the 13.5-point spread, the largest in favor of the Browns since their return to the NFL in 1999.
UPDATE 1:58 PM ET: Mayfield has returned to the game.
