Barack Obama hit social media on Saturday to share his favorite 2020 songs.
The 30-song list contains a varied mix of chart top hits and indie cuts, and covers a wide range of genres, including everything from rap and R&B to rock and reggaeton to country and pop. Obama admitted to his followers that the rounded list was curated with the help of his 19-year-old daughter Sasha, whom he described as a "family music guru."
"Here are some of my favorite songs of the year. As usual, I had valuable advice from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to."
The list includes Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé's "Savage (Remix)", Lil Babys "The Bigger Picture", Dua Lipa and DaBabys "Levitating", Mac Miller's "Blue World", J. Coles "The Climb Back" and Goodie Mob's " 4 My people. "
Obama spoke about his year-end lists in an interview with Peter Hamby earlier this month. He said he always listens to new music but will consult with his daughters Sasha and Malia on creating his favorite song playlists.
"My end-of-year playlist, these are the new cuts. And there I will confess that I have consulted with Malia and Sasha all year round," said Obama. "I listen to her music all the time. Sometimes by request and sometimes just because the house is booming ... I pick up on some trends. Sasha protects her music better. There are certain things about SoundCloud - she has a Like a private playlist. You won't share anything with me because she's not sure I'm hip enough to handle it. "
