Bears now have clear path to playoffs
The bears were pronounced dead a few weeks ago after a six-game defeat cut their record to 5-7. Now they have a clear path to the playoffs.
The Cardinals' loss to the 49ers on Saturday made it relatively easy for the bears to earn a wild card in the NFC.
If the Bears win their remaining two games (today in Jacksonville, next week at home against the Packers), they'll be in the playoffs. They are strong favorites against the jaguars. Next week's game seems difficult, but it's possible that the Packers have already achieved a home advantage during the NFC playoffs and that Aaron Rodgers and other key players will rest.
Even if the Bears lose either of their two remaining games, if they win a game and the Cardinals lose to the Rams next week, they'll make the playoffs. Which means the bears now most likely make it through the postseason and maybe save the jobs of general manager Ryan Pace, coach Matt Nagy and maybe even quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, whose departure from Chicago in 2021 is no longer as certain as he was before has appeared.
