Ben Smith's Fate With Tayshia Adams Revealed After He Returns to The Bachelorette
Ben Smith is hoping for a second chance after Bachelorette Tayshia Adams sent him packing in his hometowns.
During this week's two-day finale, the fitness trainer surprised the Bachelorette just moments after Brendan Morais decided to leave. Ben's reason for returning? He's finally ready to share how he feels about her.
On Monday night's episode, he confessed, "I screwed up by not telling you right now. I never felt that feeling, so I was just scared. But I'm in love with you. The life we together The thought of that keeps me up at night ... I just had to tell you. "
The episode ended with Tayshia leaving, but a conversation between Tayshia and a producer was taped tonight. "Ben is very important to me, but I sent him home for a reason," she says.
Tayshia then returns to the room wondering why he is shedding his heart for her now before telling him that he can attend the rose ceremony.
Then, as he leaves her room, they kiss, a decision Tayshia questions even in the confessional. She literally exclaimed, "Why did I kiss him ?!"

But perhaps their kiss provided Tayshia with clarity, as she sent Ivan home just moments later. In an admittedly confusing moment for us viewers at home, she tells Ivan that she cannot see their relationship because of an unresolved disagreement about religion.

Ben's declaration of love certainly came as an assurance for Tayshia, who was just being verbally abused by Brendan. After all, she sent him home because he couldn't open, as she explained on the Click Bait With Bachelor Nation podcast. "I remember those feelings when I was just sitting on the bench and saying, 'Show me something. Do you even care about me? Does that matter to you? Do you treat every girl like that?" She said Co-host Joe Amabile. "I just needed a little confirmation and I got none of it."
She admitted that she "had no feelings" when telling him to leave, but there was a reason for it. "I think when I start getting defensive and protecting myself I'll just turn it off completely and it's fight or flight mode," she explained. "I'm going to protect myself, I'm not going to let myself feel anymore because I don't want to be hurt. That's why you saw me shut down."
In the meantime, Brendan has no regrets about leaving Tayshia. On the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, he said they had a real "connection" but he couldn't commit to getting married a second time. He said, "I've protected myself in a way, you know, I've protected myself from injury and as cheesy as that is, stupid as it sounds, I've been married before and I think it would be a disservice to Tayshia in some ways Way, if I got engaged and fell on one knee and wasn't completely, 100 percent all-in and ready. "
And while Brendan may not be the man for her, he expressed the hope that by the end of it all she would be engaged. "Tayshia is a special woman who deserves all that life has to offer, and I am so grateful to have been a part of her journey. I wish her all the best and many blessings in life."
Will this man be Zac or Ben? We just have to wait and see.
