Beverly Mitchell isn't afraid of being imperfect.
The 41-year-old actress shared a candid post about Hollywood's unrealistic beauty standards on Instagram on Wednesday. In the video, the 7th Heaven actress lip-smacked the words to Gathoni Da Diva's "Pretty's on the Inside" as the words "Filter" and "Reality" were added as on-screen text at the top.
Mitchell formed the words, "I don't look like her. She's in all the magazines; so much prettier than me under the words "filter".
The "Saw II" star then waved beneath the words "reality" as she formed the words, "Pretty is on the inside, see it with your own eyes. Take a closer look in the mirror tonight.”
In the caption for her post, Mitchell spoke about how she's not perfect, despite the challenges of body image insecurities when working in film and television.
"Being in an industry that's based on looks, I've always prided myself on being true to myself! I'm far from perfect (there is no such thing) and I totally agree with that! I'm real, I'm broken sometimes, I'm raw and I'm true! I am who I am without apology," Mitchell wrote. "I'm proud of who I am and all the bumps and bruises that got me here!"
Mitchell also shared that she's excited for her fans to see her in the upcoming Fox series Special Forces: World's Toughest Test. The show, which will be released on January 4, will see celebrities like Gus Kenworthy, Kenya Moore and Kate Gosselin face grueling workouts and dangerous challenges.
“We were forced to really see what we're made of! Would you ever allow yourself to be vulnerable for all the world to see? I won't lie, it was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life and I'm so glad I did it!" Mitchell captioned her post while tagging her colleagues "recruits."
In the comments, fans showed their appreciation for Mitchell's authenticity, with many noting her natural beauty.
"Gosh, I just love and appreciate you! I love that you are real! Can't wait to see you!" wrote one fan.
"I love that you show your true skin and face, it's beautiful in so many ways," shared another.
"I've loved you since 'heaven'. I have loved watching you grow into the woman you are and I love love love that you share real life with everyone. Your true beauty is unfiltered. Be true to yourself," one person commented.
"And that's why, sweetie, you're so loved and admired," one gushed.
"I really love every ounce of you! You are such a great role model!” added another.
