Biden knocks DeSantis in response to latest tussle with Florida Republican: 'Governor who?'
President Biden continued his administration's argument with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over coronavirus restrictions by pretending not to know who the governor was when a reporter asked him a question.
"When I asked the President about his reaction to @RonDeSantisFL who said he was standing in the way of COVID restrictions. Pres. Biden replied," Governor who? ... that's my answer. "Thursday.
On Tuesday, Biden criticized DeSantis and Texas Governor Greg Abbott, accusing them of standing in the way of fighting the virus in their states.
DESANTIS FIRES BACK ON BIDEN: "EVERY COVID VARIANT ON THIS PLANET" COMES THROUGH ITS OPEN BORDER
"Florida and Texas account for a third of all new COVID-19 cases across the country," Biden said Tuesday. “Only two states. Look, we need guidance from everyone. If some governors are unwilling to do what is right to defeat this pandemic, they should allow companies and universities that want to do what is right to do so. “Said Biden. "I'm telling these governors, please help. If you don't want to help, please avoid people who are trying to do the right thing."
The next day, DeSantis responded to the comment by arguing that it stood in the way of a policy that he believes will not benefit his state.
“What if you pursue parenting rights in Florida? I'm in your way, ”DeSantis said. “If you try to give kids proper personal education, I'll stand in your way and stand up for the Florida kids; if you try to lock people up, I'll stand in your way. I stand for the people of Florida. "
DESANTIS TO BIDEN: "I DON'T WANT TO HEAR BLIP ABOUT COVID FROM YOU" UNTIL YOU DO YOUR JOB AND SAVE THE BORDER
DeSantis and the Biden administration have been embroiled in several arguments over the past few weeks over the governor's rejection of face mask mandates, and at one point White House press secretary Jen Psaki accused DeSantis of "putting children at risk", by not having to wear masks in schools.
Earlier this week, Psaki cited rising coronavirus cases in Florida and said DeSantis was putting politics above public health.
DeSantis went viral on social media Wednesday after a press conference telling Biden he did not want to hear a "blip" from him about the coronavirus until he secures the border and prevents unvaccinated and infected migrants from being released into the US .

"Why don't you do your job?" said DeSantis. “Why don't you make this border safe? And until you do, I don't want to hear a rash about COVID from you, thank you. "
DeSantis added, "This is a guy who ran for office and said he will shut down the virus. And what did he do? He's imported more viruses from around the world by having a wide open southern border. "
