Biden suggests GOP senators speaking out against alleged Russian hack is a sign of bipartisan future

President-elect Joe Biden had some harsh words on Tuesday for President Trump's response to the alleged Russian cyberattack on US federal agencies and companies. He accused the Trump administration of not prioritizing cybersecurity and not giving up its vigilance at all, but also expressed frustration that Trump downplayed the severity of the hack and did not officially identify a culprit that intelligence services generally suspect was the Kremlin is. Biden's anger at the White House, however, did not extend to the Capitol.
Biden said he was pleased to see lawmakers from both parties speaking out "loud and clear" against the security breach. "I'd like to especially thank prominent Senate Republicans for speaking out," he said. "It's a sign. A sign that with a new administration we can meet these threats on a bipartisan basis with a united front here at home. That should encourage the American people and warn our adversaries."
