Bride accuses childhood friend of ‘overcharging’ for last-minute wedding cake: ‘Spoiled’

A woman doesn't want to bake a time-consuming, $850 wedding cake for free — but the bride-to-be doesn't understand why.
She went on Reddit's "Am I the A*****?" (AITA)” forum. Her friend Ashley asked her to bake an elaborate wedding cake by November. Trouble was, Ashley was only willing to pay $150 for it. The Reddit poster is not a professional baker. She is a school administrator with professional baking experience but is primarily a hobby cake baker.
"Ashley wants a four tier cake with four different flavors and 100 cupcakes, 25 of each flavor. For the decoration I have to order special molds and I also have to hand paint some gold on the cake. Total cost was $825, $100 more than the previous baker," she wrote.

"Ashley was upset and said I was asking too much but I showed her the glitch. I told her I'd do it for the other deal if she was short on cash, but Ashley then asked me to do it for just $150."
When the Reddit poster asked why Ashley needed the massive discount, Ashley's reason wasn't financial. She insisted the poster should do it out of friendship. Ashley insisted she should get the same treatment because the Reddit poster was making free cakes for family members.
With just $1,000 and a day, this Harlem bedroom gets a brand new look:
"She told me I needed a friend's discount," the poser wrote. "So I said, 'The discount is you get 0% off 100% of the time, and if you keep bothering me, I'll even add taxes." Basically, Ashley didn't like that answer and told the rest of Bridal Shower, what I said so I'm getting pressure from 9 extra women to lower the price even though some say it should be halved instead of lowering it to $150.
"My husband thinks I should walk out of the wedding and not get her anything, but he doesn't like Ashley or her fiancé either (he thinks she's a spoiled brat)."
"I'm team husband," one commented.
"She's trying to scam you out of a free cake," wrote another.
"If she only wants to spend $150, she can have a $150 cake," said one Redditor.
