Britney Spears’ New Lawyer Suggests Her Dad Dissipated Her Fortune

Britney Spears' new attorney is fighting for his famous client, trying to remove her father, Jamie Spears, from the conservatory, which she has been under since 2008.
On Monday, the pop star's attorney, Mathew Rosengart, filed a motion to appoint an accountant, Jason Rubin, as the curator of her estate. In the 127-page legal document, Rosengart gives the reasons why the elder Spears shouldn't be involved in his daughter's conservatory and suggests that he "squandered" the singer's multimillion-dollar fortune.

Rosengart argued that Jamie Spears "benefited well" from the conservatory, citing his $ 16,000 monthly allowance from his daughter's estate. And in a footnote, Rosengart cited a Forbes magazine report that Britney Spears' net worth was "shockingly low" on a string of four albums and concert tours since the Conservatories began in 2008. Jamie Spears' attorneys have denied all allegations of past wrongdoing.
"Indeed, there are many serious questions about Mr. Spears 'possible wrongdoing, including conflicts of interest, abuse of conservatoires and the apparent waste of Ms. Spears' assets that Mr. Spears has effectively controlled since 2008," wrote Rosengart in the legal document.
However, Rosengart did not go into detail on these allegations. Instead, he argued that the breakdown in Spears and her father's relationship made it impossible for him to continue as her conservator.
Spears' mother, Lynne Spears, has also wholeheartedly behind efforts to remove Jamie as a restorer. In a statement attached to the application, Lynne Spears alluded to Jamie's "total control of her, his distrust of her, his coercion, his" trade "with her about what she can and cannot do for everyone Reward or punishment he is willing to face his constant threats and his decision-making in all aspects of their life. "
She also cited an alleged physical altercation between Jamie and Britney's two sons, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline, which resulted in an injunction in 2019.
“Of the acts that cemented the breakdown of my daughter's relationship with Mr. Spears, the physical altercation between Mr. Spears and the Preserved's underage children, my grandchildren were perhaps the most appalling and inexcusable, and understandably destroyed all that a relationship had was left. "Between them," Lynne Spears explained in the file.
In previous court hearings, Britney Spears had accused her father of serious misconduct and filed for charges with "conservatory abuse". Rosengart did not go that far in the motion, but did offer the possibility that Jamie Spears' behavior could have been "selfish or contrary to Title 18" - a federal crime.
Rosengart said on the file that his company was conducting its own investigation and suggested that he could return to the subject of Jamie's alleged wrongdoing later. Although much of Rosengart's work in recent years has been based in Hollywood - having represented Sean Penn, Steven Spielberg, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus - the attorney is a formal federal attorney.
"While our investigation into these and other issues is active and ongoing, this petition does not ask the court to address such issues today," the filing states.
At a June 23 hearing, Spears made her very first public testimony on explosive allegations against her father and the restorers, including that she was forced to work against her will when she said she did not want to tour ; forced her to take lithium, which she says she feels drugged and unstable, and prevented her from removing her IUD contraceptive despite planning to have a baby and marry her boyfriend, Sam Asghari. (Spears 'father denied any wrongdoing and instead pointed a finger at Spears' temporary restorer, Jodi Montgomery.)
Penny called a hearing on September 29 to answer Rosengart's request.
