Britney Spears' new social media post doesn't mince words.
The Piece of Me singer, currently in an intense legal battle to remove her father, Jamie Spears, from her controversial 13-year-old conservatory, took to Instagram on July 30th to share a cryptic quote.
"If getting up burns bridges for yourself, I have matches," the quote says. "We ride at dawn."
Spears first spoke about her conservatory in a testimony on Jan.
"All I want is to have my money and have this end and have my boyfriend drive me in his car," she said at the time. She said she was "traumatized" by the conservatory experience and said she wanted to sue her family for taking advantage of their financial situation.
Spears was listed as a Historic Monument in 2008 after being taken to a mental health facility for mental evaluation. Later that year it was extended indefinitely.
While conservatories are usually intended for the elderly or those unable to make informed decisions for themselves, Spears has worked almost non-stop since the beginning of her conservatory career, releasing multiple albums, and in a long-running, successful one almost every night Residency occurred in Las Vegas. The fan-led #FreeBritney movement believes the conservatory is unnecessary and unethical and has led protests in hopes that Spears can get their agency back.
This isn't the only time in the past few weeks that Spears has posted a cryptic quote that many believed was their current legal battle. Earlier this month, the Crossroads star apparently hinted at trouble with loved ones in the caption of a now-deleted Instagram post.
"How dare the people you love most dare to say anything ... did they even reach out to lift me up at all !!! ???" She wrote. "How dare you make it public that you are NOW INTERESTED ... did you hold out your hand when I drowned ??"
