Brooke Shields Said Liam Neeson Proposed and Then Ghosted Her

Who: Oscar-nominated actor Liam Neeson, 68, and Golden Globe-nominated actress Brooke Shields, 55.
How They Met: It's unclear how they met, but Hollywood is small and Neeson had a reputation for hanging out with the best and brightest in the business (see: Helen Mirren, Julia Roberts, Barbra Streisand, Sinead O ' Connor).
They started dating in late 1991 or early 1992. Shields wrote of that time in her memoir: There Was a Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Myself, describing Neeson as "a great Irish actor and a drunk senior who was thirteen years old."
Why We Loved Her: While Neeson and Shields' relationship doesn't sound particularly healthy, we have no choice but to stan a famous actor who “woos” his dates with bad wine.
"He wooed me with his brogue, his poetry, and his crappy selection of cheap Pinot Grigio wine," Shields wrote in her 2014 memoir.
Oh, and between Neeson's glasses and Shield's hair ... the spirit of the early 90s was alive and incredibly good in these two.

When They Peaked: The couple reached their true peak decades after their split when Shields appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. During the "Plead the Fifth" segment, Cohen asked Shields if she could confirm the rumors that Neeson was "famously well endowed". The actress replied, "Right," to which Cohen asked, "It's massive?" Shields, commenting that her husband "is going to kill me now," said Cohen, "it's plentiful."
The Breakup: Shields wrote that she was "so impressed to date a real movie star," but that seems like one of the few positive outcomes of their time together. The Blue Lagoon star said Neeson "hungered for female attention" and after suggesting to her (without a ring), he ghosted.
After a Christmas party where they "hummed all day", Neeson went to LA after his basement was allegedly flooded.
"I told him to call me when he got there," wrote Shields, to whom Neeson said, "Oh, it's getting late, darling."
After he left, Shields claimed she "never heard from him" again.

"He was there in a minute and gone the next. You know, I was shocked, I couldn't believe it. Yes. He was taken," Shields reportedly told The Times of the preicament, referring to Neeson's famous one Action franchise.

Despite her previous testimony, the actress actually saw her ex again.
In an interview with People shortly after the book was published, Shields admitted that Neeson had proposed a second time. "He came back after leaving me for the first time and asked me to remarry him," she said.
“That was before he started playing a piece [Anna Christie]. And I said, "No, no, no, because if you know each other, you will probably fall in love with your next leading lady and marry her, so I'll let myself out of here." And I was absolutely right. "
Anna Christie's Broadway revival opened in early 1993, and Neeson married his co-star, the late Natasha Richardson, the following year. They stayed together until their death in 2009.
Even so, Shields insists that there is no bad blood between her and the Schindler's List star.
When Shields played Sally Bowles in cabaret in 2001 (a role Richardson had played three years earlier), she said the British actress had come to see her backstage. Shields met Neeson years later and asked him to thank his wife for her support.

"Just tell her that I was really honored that she came backstage," she told him. "She's the original and she's amazing."
Neeson also reportedly owned his handling of signs.

According to AOL, Neeson confirmed Shield's report to Cohen from WWHL in 2015 - well, kind of.
"I'm not going to deny it. I don't really remember. It was many years ago, but ... dating, and then I flew to LA and didn't call her back. It sounds ... Yeah, I think it was "said Neeson.
Despite admitting they didn't keep in touch, Neeson called Shields "a great woman and a fantastic girl".
Where are you now:
Neeson and Richardson share two sons, Micheál Richardson (25) and Daniel Neeson (24). The actor's relationship status is unclear, although he has been linked to businesswoman Freya St. Johnston on numerous occasions over the past decade.
The Irish star has several projects in the works - his latest action film, Honest Thief, is out October 16.

Shields married famous tennis star Andre Agassi in 1997, but the marriage was over just two years later. The actress married her current husband, producer and screenwriter Chris Henchy in 2001. The couple share the daughters Rowan (17) and Grier (16).
The mother of two is currently filming the Netflix rom-com A Castle for Christmas with Cary Elwes.
