On Instagram, the fan asked Mayfield to tell Brown's followers that he would not join the kneeling protests.
"Pull your head out," Mayfield wrote back. "I am absolutely."

"Anyone so upset about my comment doesn't understand the reason for kneeling at all," Mayfield said later in a statement quoted by The Associated Press, adding that he had "greatest respect" for the military and police.
"It's about equality and about everyone being treated equally because we are all human. It has been ignored for too long and it is also my fault that I am not better educated and remain silent," said Mayfield. "If I lose fans , Is it okay. I've always said my opinion. And that comes from the heart. "
Earlier this month, the NFL said it was wrong to ban kneeling in 2018 and to allow it this season.
"We, the NFL, admit we were wrong about not listening to the NFL players earlier and encourage everyone to speak up and protest peacefully," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "We, the NFL, believe that black lives matter."
Colin Kaepernick, then a member of the San Francisco 49ers, knelt during the anthem in silent protest against police brutality against blacks in 2016. As more players followed, President Donald Trump called her "sons of bitches" and said they should be fired.
Trump also said he won't see the NFL this year if players are allowed to kneel in protest during the anthem.
