Buzzed Jim Carrey's Joe Biden Is The Fly In 'Saturday Night Live's' Pence Debate
"Saturday Night Live" was a mystery to Jim Carrey when he played Joe Biden as the fly that landed on Mike Pence's head in the cold, open version of last week's Vice Presidential Debate.
Carrey's Biden was so frustrated while watching the debate from home that he teleported to the scene and accidentally turned into the bug, a la Jeff Goldblum in "The Fly." Instant buzzkill for Beck Bennett's pence who lost the spotlight to the insect.
Carrey was joined by the late Herman Cain (played by Kenan Thompson), who was reborn as the second fly to be enraged over his death from COVID after attending Donald Trump's campaign rally in Tulsa.
"Those fools - Trump and Pence - killed me, man," Thompson's Cain told Biden-the-Fly. "They invited me to a rally without a mask and said everything is okay, Herman. I'm catching corona, says Trump," Everything is okay, Herman "... Three days later I'm gone. If you do that at home see, don't trust that white devil. "
Carrey becomes a compelling Goldblum, playing a scientist who makes a mistake in the science fiction horror film "The Fly" and ponders what terrible politicians are crawling about. "God made dinosaurs, dinosaurs became Republicans, Republicans created Trump, Trump destroyed God," he muses.
There was also a debate. Maya Rudolph's Senator Kamala Harris repeatedly says to Bennett, "I speak" and mostly practices her looks ("I smile like in a T.J. Maxx and a white lady asks me if I work here.")
Bennetts Pence reveals Trump's drug use after contracting COVID: "A woman's probiotic for balance ... Helium in his skull so his head won't fall over on TV ... He also takes Viagra for morale and some horny horny goat weed that he bought at a gas station. "
