California Cold Case Cops Arrest Suspect in 1996 Slaying of Teen Gladys Arellano
Authorities announced a major hiatus in a nearly 25-year investigation into a cold case. In 1996, the body of 17-year-old Gladys Arellano was found at the bottom of a canyon in the rugged Topanga Canyon area of Southern California. Police were collecting DNA evidence at the time, but with no suspects the case went cold. Fast forward to November 2019 when a man was arrested for domestic violence. Cops got a DNA sample from him and it turned out to be a match.
