Delevingne recently shared her collaboration with Puma on her Instagram. While she hasn't given many interviews in the past year, in a June 2020 interview with Variety, she gave one of her most candid yet about her journey to be pansexual. "I'll always be pansexual, I think," she said. "Whichever way you define yourself, whether it's 'she' or 'he' or 'she', I fall in love with the person - and that's it. I'm attracted to the person."
Delevingne, who recently broke up with her two-year-old ex-girlfriend Ashley Benson, chose not to explicitly talk about their relationship. But she told the point of sale, "I've always felt bad about someone I've ever been in a relationship with. It's very hard to keep normal in it. I think that's why I tend to keep my personal life a lot more private now because this public cause can actually ruin a lot of things. "
She revealed that as a teenager she struggled with her own sexuality, also because of the environment in which she grew up. "I grew up in an old-fashioned, downtrodden English family," she began. "And I used the word 'gay' to describe things that sucked all along: 'That's so bloody gay of you man.' Mrs. "I would say," This is disgusting. “I think it came from the fact that I just didn't want to admit who I was. I didn't mean to upset my family. I was deeply unhappy and depressed. When you don't accept any part of yourself or love yourself, it's like you're almost not there. "
Delevingne would have her first relationship with a woman when she was 18, she said. When it ended and her heart was broken, she got more support from her father than expected: "I've never been very good at talking to my father about my feelings," Delevingne began. “And I remember one day I was so upset because my heart was broken. And my father said, "You never talk to me." And I yelled at him, "I'm heartbroken." I ran down the stairs. I remember he hugged me and I started crying so much. I said, "She broke my heart." At the moment I thought he might kick me out. I was so scared; To be honest, I was scared. And he said, "She's not worth the energy. You deserve to be loved." He was so cute that I could cry about it now. "
Delevingne generally added, "As soon as I could speak freely about my sexuality, I wasn't hiding anything. And the person I hid it from most was myself."
