Charlamagne Tha God: 50 Cent’s Trump Vote Benefits His Pocketbook, Not Black People
Radio host Charlamagne Tha God reprimanded 50 Cent Wednesday night, saying the rapper's voice for President Donald Trump benefits his paperback, not blacks.
"Unlike 50 Cent, I cannot choose racism, bigotry and fascism," said Charlamagne Lisa "Kennedy" Montgomery of Fox Business Network, explaining why he will not vote for Trump this November. "I can't - I can't make that decision about my finances. My finances may just have to take a hit."
In a post on Instagram earlier this week, 50 Cent wrote that he would vote for Trump because he didn't want higher taxes. In his caption he said, "I don't care that Trump doesn't like black people."
Charlamagne went on, "We have to get this out of this. We have to get this fascism out of the White House, but I'm not mad at 50. I mean, honestly, 50 was just saying out loud what a lot of people were thinking, you know?"
Trump's 50 cents recommendation landed with a bang on Wednesday. The president himself tweeted the New York Post cover of the day the rapper supported Trump's financial policies.
Charlamagne's appearance on "Kennedy" reversed the script for the presenter, who delivered detailed and timely interviews on "The Breakfast Club" this election season. Earlier this year, Biden retraced a comment he'd made on Charlamagne: "If you have a problem figuring out if you're for me or Trump, you're not black" - after his interview went viral.
The radio host was one of the first guests to appear on "Kennedy" since the show resumed after its COVID-19 break.
