Charles Barkley's Reaction To Kevin Durant's 1-Word Answer Wins NBA's Opening Night

Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant didn't have much to say to TNT analyst Charles Barkley Tuesday after letting his game do the talking on the NBA opening night.
Durant scored 22 points in the Nets' home win over the Golden State Warriors in his first action since tearing his Achilles tendon as a warrior in June 2019.

After the game, Barkley asked the star this question:
“There was talk of coming back to the playoffs last year. So you were really just working on your game and trying to get your timing and stamina back, to be honest, right? "
A stoic Durant, with his bowed head wrapped in a towel, replied, "Yes."
Uncomfortable silence.
Then the camera turned to Barkley for a priceless look that drove his studio mates crazy.
Ernie Johnson Jr. said it was the first time anyone had given Barkley an answer in one word. "I'm not getting sensitive to these guys," said Barkley.
Durant was less than talkative in other parts of the interview as well, leading to jokes and imitations of his terse responses from the TNT crew. "There was so much energy in there, wasn't it?" Shaquille O'Neal sniffed.
Barkley pointed out that Durant's obvious demeanor may be due to negative comments he recently made about Durant's pal and teammate Kyrie Irving, For the Win reported. Criticizing Irving for not speaking to reporters, Barkley told him, "Stop acting like you are the smartest person in the world."
