Chiefs HC Andy Reid provides injury updates following Week 15 vs. Saints

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered several injuries during their Week 15 win against New Orleans Saints.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid announced his usual injury update ahead of his post-game press conference. He had information on two injuries sustained over the course of the game, starting with RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
The rookie left the game in the fourth quarter with a leg / hip injury. Although the injury looked pretty ugly, there was some good news about his injury after the game.
"So, as far as injuries are concerned, Clyde (Edwards-Helaire) has been implicated in the split," said Reid. "Right now the X-rays are negative, but we'll only evaluate him when we go."
Reid had no specifics about Edwards-Helaire's injury, but usually this is a good sign if imaging is done and it is negative. Reid went into a little bit of what happened to the retreating rookie and what will come next.
"Well, it got stretched," said Reid. “I think you kind of saw where he did the splits. His leg hurts, both legs hurt. He is currently being evaluated, he has already taken the x-rays and they were negative. "
As long as the evaluation is not serious, it is entirely possible that Edwards-Helaire escaped without major injury. We'll probably know more tomorrow when the team is back home, but this is a good start.
Reid also confirmed that LB Emmanuel Smith, who was named as the standard raise from the training team this week, suffered a hamstring change.
"Emmanuel Smith pinched his hamstring," Reid said.
In a physical game like the one the Chiefs were in right now, coming out with only two injuries to report is a blessing. Of course we will find out on Wednesday if there are any more injuries. At the moment things are looking good for Kansas City.
