Clare Crawley said goodbye to her breast implants.
The former Bachelorette star, engaged to former candidate Dale Moss, took to Instagram to let her followers know about her breast implant removal surgery and wrote in the caption of a snapshot taken from the hospital: "The operation is official completed + I am the way to healing! "
She thanked her medical team for making her “incredibly comfortable” throughout the process.
"It wasn't an easy decision, but they really are the most compassionate team that really wants to help women like me heal from BII (Breast Implant Illness)," Crawley continued. Furthermore, the overwhelming support and love from family and friends just means the world to me. That you all give me a boost when my brain slips in moments of doubt really lifted me up. "
The reality star concluded: “Our body shape doesn't define us or makes us less lovable or worthy. We are made perfect the way we are! "
Breast implant disease refers to symptoms that appear outside of the breasts after implant surgery, which can include brain fog, fatigue, joint pain, rashes, and hair loss. In an Instagram video posted earlier this year, Crawley stated, “My skin is really bad - hives and rashes all over my stomach, neck, my arms. My whole body is just inflamed and itches. "
Although not much research has been done on breast implant disease, the Food and Drug Administration said it received 2,500 reports of the disease from November 2018 to October 2019 and more than 1,000 reports between January 2008 and October 2018.
Crawley followed with her operations post in her Instagram story, in which she documented the bandages around her breasts. She captioned the post: “I still feel great. No pain medication. And best of all ... no more itchy rashes! I had them with and without them for 5 years. My skin feels amazing! "
Crawley isn't the only celebrity to comment on her breast implant removal surgery. Earlier this week, Chrissy Teigen - who had her own implants removed last year - shared a photo of her surgical scars on her Instagram story and thanked the doctor who performed the surgery.
