CNN's Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo tensely bicker over Cuomo's on-air treatment of Rick Santorum

During a Monday night interview with CNN's Chris Cumo, former GOP Senator Rick Santorum attempted to explain his offensive comments on the founding of North America and the continent's indigenous peoples as he simply spoke incorrectly. "People said I was trying to discard what we did to Native Americans, far from it," Santorum said.
As Mediaite notes, Cuomo didn't love the answer and kept pushing him, but it was his colleague Don Lemon who really aimed at Santorum's words. Later that evening, Lemon and Cuomo discussed the interview, and Lemon noted that he was "angry" while watching it. "I can't believe that the first words out of his mouth weren't," I'm sorry, I said something ignorant, I have to learn something about the history of this country, "" Lemon told Cuomo.

Things between Lemon and Cuomo then got a little tense as they paced back and forth over how to react to something like Santorum's interview (both seemed to agree that Santorum's apology was unsatisfactory.) "Why are such things being said? " Cuomo asked Lemon, who replied, "I can't answer that. [Santorum] has to answer that."
Cuomo later said that Lemon "needs to do more than just repeat public outrage," suggesting that Lemon's solution moves closer to the realm of censorship. Lemon resisted those two ideas, and eventually the segment ended with the two agreeing, disagreeing, and Cuomo Lemon saying, "I love you." Read more on Mediaite and watch the exchange below.
