CNN's Don Lemon talks about the man who confronted Tucker Carlson: 'I don't like it'
On Don Lemon Tonight Monday, Lemon defended Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who was confronted by a man at an outdoor store in Montana over the weekend. The man, Dan Bailey, told Carlson, among other things, that he was "the worst person mankind knows."
"Let me tell you this, I don't like it," Lemon said. “I don't like it when people do this because I don't want this to happen to me. But I have mixed feelings because Tucker used to do that to people. "
Lemon's mixed feelings about the confrontation are understandable, as Carlson regularly searches for reasons to attack Lemon, and even says that Lemon "runs away from diversity" in his spare time.
"Tucker said some really ugly and silly things about me, and the next day paparazzi were standing outside my house, hiding and taking pictures," Lemon said. "So I don't want it to happen to anyone, I don't want it to happen to Tucker, but if you do that I don't know."
I think what Tucker says most of the time is completely reprehensible and disconnected from reality, but he has the right to be in space and not be attacked and not ambushed by anyone.
Lemon has repeatedly admonished Carlson's testimony, repeating how he thinks about much of what Carlson says but believes he has the right to be left alone in public.
"I think what Tucker says most of the time is completely reprehensible and disconnected from reality," said Lemon, "but he has the right to be in a room and not be attacked or ambushed by anyone."
Lemon also said that it appears in the video of the confrontation that Bailey tried to intimidate Carlson, but CNN contributor Ana Navarro believes Carlson had come, citing Carlson's divisive rhetoric regarding the race and his ongoing misinformation about them COVID vaccines.
"Just as Tucker Carlson feeds hatred every night and racism every night and anti-Covid rhetoric every night that has put lives in danger," said Navarro, "that guy in that fish shop, whatever it is? has a right to his opinion. "
Don Lemon Tonight airs at 10 p.m. on weekdays. on CNN.
