Colbert Rips 'Dead-Eyed Lego Man' Sean Hannity Over Ghoulish New Sales Pitch
Stephen Colbert said "everyone with a touch of soul feels for the Afghan people" while television was filled with images of desperate refugees trying to escape the Taliban.
"That of course excludes Fox News host and death-eyed Lego man Sean Hannity," said Colbert.
Hannity used the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan as a bizarre transition to cheap telephone rates.
"There is a rush, not just from Afghanistan, but also a rush away from high prices and overpriced services from major airlines like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile," said Hannity as he spurred his sponsor on.
"He used the fall of Kabul - the tragic culmination of 20 years of US life and resource sacrifices - as a skillful transition to a sponsor," said Colbert.
