Conservative Pundit Explains Why It’s Dangerous To Dismiss Arizona GOP Audit As A Joke

Conservative expert Charlie Sykes warned on Thursday against opposition to the partisan scrutiny of the 2020 elections by the GOP of the Arizona Senate.
Sykes told MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace that “the beating heart” of the GOP is now to accept ex-President Donald Trump's lie that he actually beat President Joe Biden, “and then use that as an excuse to denounce the Change Laws, ”referring to the Republican-sponsored election restrictions that are being introduced nationwide.
"As we said earlier, we can roll our eyes and treat the Arizona audit as a joke, but a clown with a flamethrower still has a flamethrower," said Sykes, founder of conservative website The Bulwark.
"We are on evidence there is no logical connection to it other than that this has now become the gospel in the Republican Party," he added. “And it's not just Arizona. I think, by the last count, MPs from seven states attended this exam in Arizona, so what you see here will metastasize across the country. "
