Convicted Wife-Killer Walks Free After Only Serving 8 Years Of 67-Year Sentence

A Grenadian family is in disbelief after their daughter's killer was released from prison after serving just eight years of a 67-year sentence, as reported by Meawww.
Alexander Clack, a former prison officer, was arrested in Grenada in 2014 for the murder of his wife Nixiann Downes-Clack, The Independent reported.
Downes-Clack told her husband she found out he was having an affair with her 17-year-old babysitter and threatened to leave the now 40-year-old.

Unfeeling the threats, Clack strangled his wife on their fourth wedding anniversary in June 2014.
According to Meaww, Clack placed his late wife's body in a suitcase and buried it in a small grave, which police found days later.
In 2016, Clack was finally sentenced to life in prison with 67 years and some amendments, according to the Daily Mail.
But due to the recent mysterious disappearance of a Supreme Court Registry computer, Clack doesn't have to serve out the remainder of his sentence.
He was released by the appeals court on September 20 because the case could not proceed without transcript documents.

"To all appearances, the computer on which the recording would have been typed is currently untraceable and that will contain the crucial parts of the trial," Senator Claudette Joseph, Attorney General and Attorney General, told TheNewTodayGrenada. "As a result, it (the collapse of the judiciary) seriously impairs and violates an accused person's right to a fair trial and a hearing."
Nixxian Downes-Clack's aunt recently spoke to The Sun about the unfairness of the new verdict.
"I'm appalled. How could they release someone in such a flimsy way when he is guilty of such evil and is clearly a danger to women? Now he got away with murder and is headed in that direction," said Kim Szmyglewska.
Clack's lawyer, Anselm Clouden, said his client was "over the moon" to return home, The Sun reported.
