We have sad news for Costco fans who have relied on the camp's popular half-tin cakes for every celebration in their family - be it a graduation, a birthday or a wedding: Costco has announced that they will endure these long-lasting desserts Family occasions brightened - and frankly, we suspect it's COVID-19. Eventually, big parties and events were stopped due to quarantine and social distance, and while we are not against eating cakes - even lots of cakes - on their own, it makes sense that the company says goodbye to their beloved delicacies when people don't buy so much.
The good news: Costco cakes don't go away - they're now focusing on smaller, round 10-inch cakes that are just as tasty and better suited for smaller gatherings.

“We don't currently sell our 1/2 sheet cakes at any US location and we have no immediate plans to bring them back. We focus on our smaller 10 "White & 10" Chocolate Cakes that seem to appeal to our members, ”the company told Delish. (SheKnows also asked Costco for a comment.)
When Costco first announced the switch to selling smaller, round cakes because half of the sheet cakes were “currently unavailable”, many customers expressed their disappointment. "I'm just hearing about it and I'm very upset about it. We have been planning to have Costco sheet cakes for the graduation of our daughters for over a year. Your senior year was already one with so many disappointments, ”wrote one commentator.
Okay, Costco. We understand. We still love you. And we buy these delicious 10 inch cakes. But ... maybe think again?
