Covid live updates: Congress passes massive coronavirus relief bill

Congress voted overwhelmingly to pass a massive Covid-19 aid package and government funding bill. This marks the second effort this year to provide much-needed aid to Americans struggling during the pandemic.
The deal, which was easily passed in House 359-53 before going through the Senate just before midnight on a 92-6 vote, includes stimulus checks of up to $ 600 per person for those earning $ 75,000 per year , and married couples earning up to $ 150,000 with $ 600 more for each dependent under 18 living in the same household.
President Donald Trump is expected to sign the bill in the coming days. Since the bill is one of the largest at 5,600 pages and government funds are used up by midnight, lawmakers have included a separate bill to avoid shutting the government for seven days.
