Craig Carton to Return to WFAN Airwaves 3 Years After His Arrest
Craig Carton is back at WFAN three years after being arrested for an illegal ticketing fraud.
He will officially return to the New York City area sports radio station on Nov. 9, where he will work with Evan Roberts on the 2pm to 7pm afternoon show. ET. Robert's longtime co-host Joe Beningo announced his retirement earlier this week.
Carton was arrested by the FBI in 2017 and charged with conspiracy, cable fraud, and securities fraud. Shortly thereafter, he resigned from WFAN, where he and former NFL quarterback Boomer Esaisan put on their popular morning show. Carton spent a year in prison and was released in June.

The box will appear on WFAN on Thursday at 5 p.m. ET to discuss his new role.
"Craig Carton has been part of the WFAN structure, both in the air and off-air, for a decade, delighting and entertaining audiences with his unique personality and talent," said Chris Oliviero, WFAN senior vice president and market manager - Owner Entercom. “We all hope that this next step on his way back will benefit not only Craig but his audience as he tells his story and tries to make a difference through the power of his voice. WFAN welcomes him back and is happy that he is going to see Evan Roberts in the afternoon. "
Carton was the subject of an HBO documentary, "Wild Card," which followed the breathtaking demise of the once popular radio jock. Through a series of first-person interviews with Carton and others, the film showed how the radio host's secret insatiable gambling addiction - funded by an illegal ticket brokerage deal - suddenly brought his career to a standstill.
"I am grateful to Entercom for the opportunity to return to WFAN," said Carton. “I've dreamed of this moment every minute of every day for the past three years. I know I have a lot more work to do to regain the trust of my colleagues, listeners and advertisers and I am determined to do just that. I can't wait to start with Evan Roberts on November 9th. "
