Cubs fans lose their minds on Twitter over Jon Lester's move to Nationals
Cubs fans are losing their minds on Twitter over Lester messages that originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
Let's hope Cubs fans took advantage of Jon Lester's free round of drinks while they could.
One of the biggest free agent signings in Cubs and Chicago history, Lester is on his way to the Washington Nationals. According to several reports, he signed a one-year contract with a mutual option until a physical one is outstanding.
Lester signed with the Cubs on December 15, 2014 and made an instant impression. He helped the Cubs win a World Series title for the NLCS in its first season and a year after. The fan favorite also received two All Star bids while on the north side.
As expected, Cubs fans are ... well ... not happy to see him leave.
Impressive. And the hits kept coming ...
Cubs fans: You might want to circle May 17th on the calendar. This will be the Nationals (and Lester's) first trip to Wrigley Field in the coming season.
Maybe another round of drinks is okay?
