"I was broken when I announced that I had recently been informed that I would not be re-signing for the Dancing On Ice 2021 series.
"This decision was a big shock for me. I absolutely love the show and hoped to be able to return for 2021. I was confused, lost and devastated."
She continued: "I am so thankful for the three years I have had on this incredible show and I will miss all and everything about it with all my heart.
"Although my heart is broken, I firmly believe that everything is happening for a reason, and although it hurts now, I will recover and look to the future.
"Many thanks to all my colleagues at DOI and especially to the audience for the constant support and love that you have shown me over the past 3 years.
"It was an incredible part of my life and although it ends earlier than I would have liked, I am so grateful for the memories."
Ashley Dancing On Ice judge Ashley Banjo commented, "Can't believe this ..."
Former winner James Jordan replied, "Wow! Shocked, hope you are well."
