Delta Is Changing Its Boarding Process. Here's What You Need To Know

Airlines around the world are changing their policies and processes in the wake of the pandemic. Redesigned interiors, baggage claim procedures and now even the boarding process is changing.
You know the drill of boarding. People who need extra help and people traveling with children board early. Next, active duty military personnel are boarded. That's when Diamond Medallion frequent flyers, Business Class and First Class passengers board Delta One.

But now Diamond Medallion frequent flyers are boarding after Delta One business class and first class passengers. This is where Delta Premium Select passengers and passengers with strollers and car seats board. Comfort Plus, Sky Priority and Main Cabin passengers board last. Finally, economy passengers board.

"This adjustment will shift the boarding order for a small group of premium customers while providing them with a preferred boarding experience," a Delta Air Lines spokesman said in a recent statement to The Points Guy. While the process may seem complicated, it doesn't sound like it significantly delays the entire boarding process.
Plus, Diamond Medallion frequent flyers will continue to receive priority boarding, giving them plenty of extra time to pack and relax before departure. They even get a special announcement now, just for them.
Participating travelers in Detroit can now log in to try the airport's Parallel Reality Experience. According to the Washington Post, "Parallel Reality relies on display technology that allows multiple people to look at the same board at the same time and see personalized information."
With additions to Delta Air Lines' flight schedule, such as B. non-stop flights to Cape Town and Tahiti, knowledge of the airline's changed boarding process will put fliers one step ahead.
