Denise Richards Says She 'Went in Very Naïve' to RHOBH and Explains Why the Show Is on 'Hiatus'
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills may have a mid-season break, but when it comes back, Denise Richards says the audience will learn the full story of the upcoming drama.
RHOBH fans were disappointed last week when they learned that the show was not airing just as season 10 drama was starting to accelerate. While performing on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle show this week, Denise explained why the show is temporarily not releasing new episodes - and why her second season in the series is rougher than her first.
"I was very naive in season one, I think. I want to be myself because some people know me and I didn't want to play a character, otherwise we call it script. So I just wanted it." Be myself on the show and you know whatever happens and just react the way I would really do it, "she said.
"In my first season I had a great time getting to know all women and it was fun to be able to do that - you know, we can go to fabulous restaurants and trips and I had fun with them and I really started some good friendships, "continued Denise, 49.

But when it comes to the current 10th season, the Bravo star admitted that it was "very different for me".

"It was a different experience," she said with a laugh. "But you know, people are watching, so that's good."
As viewers will remember, the last episode ended with Denise and husband Aaron Phypers storming out of Kyle Richards' family grill outside. The reason for the couple's sudden exit? The three-way discussion was (again) addressed and Denise was accused of "mother disgrace".
The audience is also waiting for Brandi Glanville's bombing to be revealed that she allegedly had an affair with the actress Denise denied.
Although Denise reportedly exited the show after being interrogated by her comrades-in-arms, Denise made it clear that she hadn't "stopped filming." (An insider previously said to PEOPLE that she "absolutely never left" the reality series.)
"We wrapped up in December. I missed two parties ... towards the end, so I didn't stop filming and I actually think I filmed something on FaceTime for one of the parties. The other party I didn't go to So I wrapped up for the season and then did all of our confessionals and everything, "said the mother of Sam (16), Lola (15) and Eloise (9) on the Jess Cagle show.

Denise said the show was due to a short "pause" due to the coronavirus pandemic that delayed confession filming.

"I think we paused because we were so far behind with the COVID confessionals. We only recently started doing them where we basically film ourselves. We have someone who comes in and everything with a mask. I think that's one of the reasons why we have to take a break, "she said. "We have to catch up with the consequences."
She also confirmed that fans will learn the full story later in the season.
"If it airs the way it was filmed, people will see what happened," she said.
RHOBH returns to Bravo on July 8th.
