Doug Pederson: Opportunity to sign veteran RB slipped through our fingers
The Eagles have been linked to some veterans this off-season, and it looks like they tried to sign one of them before they decided on another option.
The head coach of the Eagles, Doug Pederson, did not identify the player the team was targeting while performing at WIP, but said he was no longer available.
"We had the opportunity to possibly catch a player and he slipped through our fingers," Pederson said of NJ.com.
Carlos Hyde signed with the Seahawks in May and there was a word of Eagle's interest. So it's a good bet that he was the player Pederson and his company were targeting. Devonta Freeman and LeSean McCoy are also reportedly on the radar, though nothing seems to be brewing with either player.
